THE BONHAM FAMILY

Nate and Nikki have been serving with Mission to the World (MTW) since 2012, but their desire for foreign missions began soon after they were married in 2004. After several years working in secular vocations, Nate earned his Master of Divinity and Nikki earned her master’s in Christian Education from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. They served at a church plant in Mississippi for almost seven years before leaving for the field. Nate is an ordained teaching elder (pastor) in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), an associate member of the Reformed Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Colombia (IREP), and a doctoral candidate in Pastoral Counseling at Westminster Theological Seminary.

The Bonhams arrived in South America in 2012 and spent their first year in Bogota, Colombia, where they attended language school and served alongside a new church plant. In late 2013, they transitioned to Arequipa, Peru, where they served in church revitalization, discipleship, counseling, and pastoral and lay training. In December 2020, they moved to Rionegro, Colombia to open a new field for MTW. Rionegro is located on the outskirts of Colombia’s 2nd-largest city, Medellín.

Nate serves as the church planting pastor of Iglesia El Redentor (Redeemer Church), as well as in areas of theological education, pastoral training, and biblical counseling. Nikki serves in education, discipleship, and ministry to women and children. They are passionate about hospitality as a means for evangelism and discipleship. Their hope is to see Christ-centered and biblically based churches planted across the region of Eastern Antioquia in Colombia.
